What Is Your Purpose-An Old View?
Preface: Life is so interesting! Sometimes I think the key to life is really just about being open, present, and available to what the universe shows you! Once you really SEE things, everything in your life falls into place! Don’t get me wrong, I definitely struggle with this, but there are times when things just click and I clearly see what I am supposed to do next. This post is a great example! I started writing “What is Your Purpose” months ago and I really wanted it to be my first post, but I just could not figure out how to articulate exactly how and what I wanted to say! A couple months later, after I started writing other articles, I heard Dr. Michael Bernard Beckwith say something that COMPLETELY changed how I was looking at things. So I am going to do something a little bit different since Organic Expressions is fundamentally about personal growth and self-awareness. This week I am going to post my first article on finding your purpose, then next week, I am going to post the second article so you can see the transformation of my awareness. As I write for Organic Expressions, and write the daily affirmations @dailyflowermotivations, I am growing too! Let’s use this to grow together!
What is your purpose?
One of my first blog posts was “You Have Arrived” because I think not being actively present in each and every moment can impede us from finding and fulfilling our life purpose. So as we work on really absorbing, reflecting on, and experiencing everything going on around us, let’s use this new energy to either find your purpose if you don’t know what it is, or to reaffirm your purpose if you have already identified who and what you are meant to be. Let’s use this moment to get on track to achieving our goals by fulfilling our life purpose!
Today I want to talk about ways you can determine your purpose in order to live a life where you take each step of every day fulfilling your purpose. We all need to determine what our true purpose on earth is so we can live in a complete, fulfilling, and meaningful way.
How do you know what your purpose is?
I heard someone define your purpose as that thing you are really good at without even trying or something you do really well with very little effort. While I agree with the premise, I believe the act of fulfilling your purpose is what fills you or feeds your soul even if you are not great at it! I also think your purpose is something you would do even if you were not receiving monetary compensation since the compensation you receive nourishes almost everything your soul needs.
If you still don’t know what your purpose is, why don’t we look at this in a different way? I think your purpose should be centered in peace, love, creativity, giving, compassion, helping others, joy, comfort, teaching, etc. Your purpose should not stem from a sense of self-fulfillment or self-aggrandizement, be ego driven, or based on greed, competition, lack and limitation, or self-hate. That’s not to say you cannot find fulfillment or success when leading a purpose driven life, it just means that those “good things” have to be at the core of your actions. Your purpose has to be outward focused, bringing or giving those “good things” to others, and if success comes to you along the way that is a bonus!
With this in mind, how did you figure out your purpose?
Postface: I shared this article because I thought there were a few good tidbits in here, but I just could not “bring it home”! Tune in next week though, I think “What Is Your Purpose-My New View” is a home run-If I do say so myself! Have a great week and don’t forget to visit @dailyflowermotivations on Instagram every weekday for a daily affirmation!
Thanks for growing with me!
